News website The Verifier (via 9to5Mac) reported that the latest version of the operating system will allegedly be coming to all existing iOS 13 iPhone and iPad devices. If accurate, this would mean that iPhones ranging from the 6s series onwards will receive the update eventually after it is rolled out. However, the source noted that iOS 14 will be the last operating system update for devices running on the A9 chip, such as the aforementioned iPhone 6S and the 2016 iPhone SE....

MacRumors has obtained Kuo’s research note with TF International Securities, which illustrates his iPhone launch predictions of 2020 and 2021. In it, Kuo mentions that the highest-end iPhone will not only drop the Lightning connector, but will not feature any port at all. Kuo also predicts that this highest-end iPhone will launch in the second half of 2021. It remains to be seen if it will be a one-off, or the first of many iPhones without the Lightning connector....

Existing users can sign into the web version of the streaming platform with their Apple ID to enjoy all of its features and content, provided that they are subscribed to the service as well. Once logged in, the user will also be able to access all of their library and playlists which are synchronized with the mobile version. The web version of the platform is an excellent approach for subscribers who wish to use the streaming service on systems that lack the native Apple Music app support, including Windows 10, Linux, and Chrome OS....

According to a new patent, Apple may be exploring letting users swap out the arms of the its AR glasses. These arms will be the ones that house different features that the AR glasses will be able to carry out. This will allow users to customise the AR glasses as they need. One example given was a high battery capacity for outdoor use at the cost of other features, or higher resolution when used at home, at the cost of battery life....

Reuters reports that Apple is planning to produce a passenger vehicle in 2024. The iPhone maker also has a new battery design that could “radically” reduce the cost of batteries and increase the vehicle’s range, according to sources reported by Reuters. Though no details were disclosed as to what makes the battery design so impressive. The company’s self-driving car efforts hasn’t exactly been smooth at the start. Apple started with its own designs back in 2014 under what’s known as Project Titan....

The report cites insiders who claim that Apple is planning to use its own custom displays in mobile devices as soon as 2024. This new screen will feature what is called microLED, and it will first show up on high end Apple Watches. The report also notes that “the company has begun testing this new microLED displays on an update to the Apple Watch Ultra“. Other mobile devices like iPhones will be getting it later, according to the report....

Based on the list of people that Apple works with in order to deliver original contents for its new video subscription service, the company does have a sound foundation to make such a bold claim. The Information reports that the expensive headset will actually be a mixed-reality headset, with greater emphasis towards VR. Citing an unnamed source, the report states that the Apple headset will have over a dozen cameras tracking hand movements, and showing a video of the real world to the wearer. And the wearer will be seeing this through two 8K displays, which will be accompanied with advanced eye-tracking tech. The eye-tracking tech will allow the Apple headset to fully render the parts that the wearer is looking at....

The numbers estimated by analysts were gathered from retail partners and other vendors for both Apple and Swiss products. The report added that the combined sales from all traditional Swiss watch makers in the last year are estimated at a total of 21.1 million units, a 13 percent decline when compared to the figures in 2018. “Analog wristwatches remain popular among older consumers, but younger buyers are tipping toward smartwatches and computerised wrist wear,” writes Neil Mawston, executive director at Strategy Analytics....

To start, both the 40mm and 44mm models of the latest Apple Watch see an increase in battery capacity compared to the Series 5 models.
