While the CPU and GPU maker has already marked our calendars with the official launch dates for its new Ryzen 4000 series desktop CPUs and Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs, it has decided to simply give the first look of it to the world, just like that.
— Radeon RX (@Radeon) September 14, 2020 As to where you can find the image renders of the Radeon RX 6000 series card, you’ll find it within the Fortnite Creative Island, the same island where hints of its existence was first discovered by the game streamer Gina Darling. You’ll also need to input the code provided by AMD, which is 8651- 9841-1639. Mercifully and thanks to Twitter user Nathan (@NateOrb) for taking a few screenshots, we actually don’t have to enter the game’s custom map to see the card render. Off the bat, we can see that AMD’s next-gen card will be using a triple-fan cooling solution, just as it did with the Radeon VII. What does seem different about it, though, are the fans that seemed to have been redesigned for better airflow efficiency.
— Nathan (@NateOrb) September 14, 2020 In sticking to its design tradition, the card will also be sporting a backplate with a cutout where the GPU core is. We also get to see the back of the card, which shows off one HDMI port, two DisplayPorts, and a USB-C port that we’re assuming is there for the purpose of VR. Oh, and the card will require two 8-pin PCIe ports to power it. Beyond that, there’s really nothing more to see. There are obviously data or hardware specifications being announced, so clearly, AMD is planning on making all that public come 28 October. Until then, we just have to be patient.
