As you may have heard, Astro’s customers were not able to access certain channels for the past two days due to the Signal Unavailable issue which is also known by many as the SCNA error. On a normal day, this particular error is usually caused by rainy weather but not this time around though. Astro then released a statement on 21 June which said that the massive disruption was caused by an outage faced by its satellite provider. However, it turned out that the unnamed provider required more time to rectify the situation according to another statement released by Astro on the morning of 22 June. In tonight’s announcement, the company has also advised users to restart their Astro boxes. However, Astro also admitted that certain customers such as those who reside in high rise buildings or have Multiroom installation may still be plagued by the outage. Despite the announcement by Astro, we noticed that a lot of customers have complained through the company’s Facebook page that they still faced the SCNA error on certain channels even after restarting their Astro boxes multiple times. Not surprisingly, once again there are plenty of demands for compensation as well. Hence, we doubt that tonight’s announcement would be the end of this story. We will keep you updated as always, so do stick around for more. (Source: Astro – Twitter, Facebook.)
