This is the second acquisition made Corsair this year. Prior to Scuf Gaming, the PC accessories and peripheral brand acquired enthusiast PC builder, Origin PC, back in July. Of course, a year before that, the company bought out the Elgato Gaming division. And with it, the brand’s entire video streaming equipment and video capture cards. The buyout is expected to be completed within the next 30 days. But just as it was with the previous acquisitions, however, Scuf Gaming will still be operating as a separate brand and also retain its current place of employment. The way we see it, Corsair’s decision makes a lot of sense. The company already manufactures and sells high-performance gaming mice and keyboards, along with a slew of other gaming accessories and its own custom-made desktop PC solutions. Moreover, the purchase signals Corsair’s interest in the custom game controller market; a market that is occupied by the likes of Razer and Hori. (Source: Corsair via Engadget, PC Gamer)
