CDPR initially assured fans that the game was still on track for its September release window back in March, despite the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the promise could not be fulfilled as the developer had decided to push the game’s release from 17 September to 19 November 2020. Meaning that gamers around the world will have to wait for another two months to finally play the game.

— Cyberpunk 2077 (@CyberpunkGame) June 18, 2020 As with the previous delay announcement, CDPR co-founder Marcin Iwiński and head of studio Adam Badowski noted that the game is finished both content and gameplay-wise. But due to the scale and complexity of the game, Cyberpunk 2077 will still need a bit more time to get things like gameplay mechanics and bugs to be fully ironed out. The developer stated that it “won’t ship something which is not ready.”  CDPR said that it will also be eagerly expecting the first impressions of the game from journalists around the world who have received an early build for previewing. Additionally, the developers noted that their Cyberpunk 2077 online presentation, Night City Wire, will be held later this month on 25 June.
