To go into the detail, the UltraGear lineup comprises the 27GL850 and 38GL950G. As their codes suggest, one is a 27-inch monitor, while the other measures in at 37.5-inch. Starting with the 27GL850, the monitor has Quad HD (2560 x 1440) resolution, a maximum brightness of 350 nits, and a refresh rate of 144Hz. Further, the 27GL850 is an NVIDIA G-Sync compatible monitor and features support for HDR10. Ports-wise, it comes with two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort, and a built-in USB 3.0. Moving on, the 38GL950G has a 37.5-inch Nano IPS display. It is also an ultra-wide gaming monitor, with a maximum resolution of 3840 x 1600) and an aspect ratio of 21: 9. It’s also got a higher maximum refresh rate than the 27-inch model at 175Hz and is also a curved gaming display with a virtually borderless design. Plus, a new and improved version of LG’s Sphere Lighting 2.0 at built into the rear of the monitor.
Unlike the 27-inch model, the 38GL950G houses a full-size NVIDIA G-Sync module and is VESA DisplayHDR 400-certified. Both the LG 27GL850 and 38GL950G will begin their rollout starting next month, with the US receiving the 27-inch model as early 1 July. There’s still no word as to when or if LG Malaysia intends to bring the monitors into the country, nor is there local pricing. (Source: LG)
