The new ZV-E10 is compact and comes in at 353g, which makes it almost on par with the ZV-1 in terms of size and weight. Unlike most of Sony’s current generation mirrorless cameras, it does not feature an electronic viewfinder for image framing. However, it does come with a fully articulating 7.5cm flip-out TFT LCD touchscreen on its back, which can be positioned to face the user for front-facing shots. And for those wondering, the camera does not feature any form of water or dust protection, so it is best that you don’t use it to record certain outdoor activities.
Found in the camera’s interior is a 24MP APS-C sensor, which is capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps or 1080p HD at 120fps. It also comes with the brand’s latest phase-detect autofocus system, enabling quick subject tracking via eye, face and head detection. The Alpha ZV-E10, however, does not feature in-body image stabilisation, but it does support active electronic image stabilisation and optical stabilisation that are equipped on supported Sony lenses. Other features include the ability to record time-lapse and slow motion videos, as well as the “product showcase” mode that was first introduced on the Sony ZV-1. The latter lets the camera automatically focus away from your face and onto an object that is placed in front of it – a useful feature for recording videos such as product reviews. There’s also a bokeh switch that sets the lowest f-stop available, which instantly blurs out the background – thus giving more focus on the subject captured. Besides that, the ZV-E10 comes with an onboard high-quality three-way microphone for audio capture, a hot shoe for compatible Sony camera attachments, live stream and file transfer support via USB-C, 3.5mm mic and headphone jacks, and a single SD card slot for storage. In terms of battery life, Sony claims that it is capable of recording videos for up to 80 minutes or snapping 440 photos on a full charge, and it also comes with USB-C charging support. Lastly, the new vlogging camera is offered in black and white colour options. Sony Malaysia has confirmed the new Alpha ZV-E10 will be available in Malaysia from September 2021 onwards. In regards to pricing, the new camera will retail at RM2,599 for body only, and RM3,099 when bundled together with the new Sony E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS power zoom lens.
