Today’s announcement came rather swiftly following the discovery of several interesting documents within MCMC’s website earlier this week. Among them is the Ministerial Directive No. 4 of 2020 [pdf] that was signed by Minister Saifuddin on 15 May which involved direct allocations of 700MHz spectrum bands to Altel, Celcom, Digi, Maxis, and TM. It was a rather baffling move since the allocations of the 700MHz spectrum bands which have been marked as one of the 5G pioneer bands, were supposed to be done through open tender....

Now, more details about the upcoming foldable have reportedly been leaked. According to a source who spoke to XDA, the successor to the Motorola Razr 5G will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship chipset and launch with Android 12 installed. For comparison, the previous Razr used the Snapdragon 765G while the original Razr foldable ran on the Snapdragon 710. That could change in a future version of Firefox though as Mozilla is considering giving the popular browser a more advanced mode of private browsing. According to the company, consumers in Malaysia are able to purchase any of these GeForce RTX-based gaming laptops starting from 29 January onwards at 10PM which is the general launch date for all GeForce RTX laptops throughout the world. VGC reports that Jeff Grubb of VentureBeat shared on the Grubbsnax podcast that publisher Electronic Arts is shifting the NFS series to “next-gen only”. Meaning that this year’s Need for Speed title will only be available on the PS5, as well as the Xbox Series X and S where those consoles are available. No mention of if the game will be on PC though. The new Need for Speed game will be released sometime in November, which is usually when new games from the series gets released anyway....

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime said “at least from an Americas perspective, these products are going to be available through the holiday season and once they sell out, they’re gone. And that’s it.” While it doesn’t seem like this is due to a supply issue, it may have something to do with the fact that Nintendo also has its classic games via Nintendo Switch Online....

To enable Profile Lock, the principle account holder can do so through the Profile & Parental Controls section of his or her account settings. Once activated, the said profile will now show a lock icon underneath its picture. Since it is part of Parental Control settings, Profile Lock is generally designed for parents in mind. However, it could still be quite useful to the rest of us especially for those who shared their Netflix account with friends or family members, since now they could really make their profile private....

The implementation is similar to what the company has activated in Europe whereby Netflix is reducing 25% of its traffic in Malaysia. Naturally, this will affect the video quality of the service but Netflix insists that subscribers will continue to be able to watch its contents at the resolution they paid for, just at slightly lower quality. According to the company’s representative, Netflix decided to implement this not because the Malaysian government or Internet Service Provider (ISP) have requested for it....

Beyond the characters though, the Super Mario Bros movie features a lot of easter eggs and references to the game franchise as a whole. There’s the Rainbow Road, a very recognisable track featured in virtually every Mario Kart game. The race kart itself also makes an appearance, with other characters from the franchise in their racing getup and their choice of vehicles. Of course, it’s not a Super Mario Bros movie without referencing the game’s platforming element....

The game was first announced back in November last year, was supposed to have made its debut before the end of 2017 as well. The reason behind the delay is, at the time of writing, still vague and unclear. On top of that, Niantic has given no exact date of launch for the game. The news isn’t without a silver lining. As you can see above, Niantic has released a teaser video for the game....

Nintendo’s tweet outrightly names Super Smash Bros Ultimate as one of the available titles that are set to receive an update, but doesn’t say anymore. That said, earlier reports and leaks have given the gaming community a sense of what to expect for the Switch. As pointed out by Engadget, the decision to halt support for Netflix on the console falls in line with the video game maker’s main action: to bring the Wii Shop Channel to a close. The decision, however, will not affect Nintendo Wii U owners. Given the age of the Wii, Nintendo’s decision to stop supporting the console isn’t any different from other Sony ceasing support or production for its past consoles....
