In terms of design, the new Buds Pro somewhat resembles the AirPods Pro to a degree. But what sets it apart from Apple’s product are the chrome-covered stems on each earbud, giving them a more fancy-looking appearance. In addition, the product is made available in two colour options: white and black. Hopefully, OnePlus’ design for its Buds Pro is enough to prevent US customs from mistakenly identifying them as counterfeit AirPods....

Pei’s quiet exit does come as something of a surprise. His role in OnePlus has been nothing short of instrumental over the years, with the launch of the OnePlus Nord being his last major success to date. The patent, filed with the USPTO, describes the ability to allow a PlayStation console players to manually allocate their internet bandwitdh for downloads and for online gaming. In typical patent fashion, the language is extremely convoluted, but the gist of it is giving you control of your bandwidth the way you would via a router’s QoS feature. In addition to the dynamic adjusting of bandwidth based on application priority, you can also set the exact amount of bandwidth to allocate for a particular app or game, and a separate amount for downloads in general....

According to Bernama, eight individuals were also arrested for being involved in mining activities using stolen electricity. This would power stolen electricity from Sarawak Energy Berhad, the state’s equivalent of Peninsular’s Tenaga Nasional Berhad. Of the eight, six have been charged and have been fined up to RM8000 and jailed for up to eight months. So to be clear, the crime here is not crypto mining, but the theft of electricity....

To recap, reports suggests that Samsung isn’t just working on a single Galaxy S10 model, but a total of four different models. Out of the four models, the highest tier variant won’t just have the aforementioned six camera and 5G network support, but also a display that measures in at 6.7-inches. As a recap, Qualcomm won a legal battle against the company from Cupertino in Germany a couple of weeks ago. The former won the court case, and the German court ordered a ban on the sale of iPhones with chips provided by Qorno Inc., one of Apple’s many suppliers. In order to enforce the court order, Qualcomm had to post bonds to the value of 1.34 billion Euros (~RM6.32 billion)....

Taiwanese outlet Digitimes reports that Qualcomm will be working with ASUS to develop and launch phones bearing the former’s branding. And on the launch bit, it could actually happen as soon as the end of this year, too. The former will take care of the “industry design” and “software integration optimising its Snapdragon 875 platform”. On the other hand, the latter will take care of designing and developing the rest of the hardware....

So what’s the deal with the new variant? Mainly one thing, and that is the 8000Hz polling rate. DPI is also pushed up a little, from 16000 to 20000, but that’s far less significant. Beyond that, it sports the familiar ambidextrous design and optical switches. And it remains very lightweight, at 71g. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, polling rate refers to the frequency at which a peripheral sends data to your PC....
