The WD My Book Live app allows owners to access their files and manage their devices remotely, even if the NAS is behind a firewall or router. When users attempted to log in via the Web dashboard, the device stated that they had an “Invalid password.” One user said that his drive had 2TB worth of content and that it worked for years but is now showing full capacity....

The block for EdgeDeflector first appeared for Beta and Release Preview users last week, and is now part of an upcoming Windows 11 update. Daniel Aleksandersen, the app’s developer, calls Microsoft’s push for Edge as the default browser aggressive. “Edge will even ‘declutter’ your browser settings, as Microsoft calls it, and unpin competitors from the taskbar and replace the pinned apps with Edge,” he wrote in a blog post. Daniel also speculates Mozilla Firefox and Brave browser’s recent implementation of a feature that is similar to his app had caught Microsoft’s attention, leading to this block....

The reason behind the switch lies in the nature of the EdgeHTML engine used by Edge; Windows 10’s current default browser. Sources close to Windows Central cite instability and its general lack of popularity, from users and developers alike. This is in contrast with Chromium, which is what Google’s Chrome browser is made with. Microsoft’s new Chromium-based browser is codenamed Anaheim internally. It’s not yet known if it will continue to use the Edge name, or if it will use the current code name – or even have a new one of its own – when it gets officially announced....

In this trailer, Capcom showcased not only a bunch of new monsters, but also new gameplay mechanics. It was only last month that Apple was reported to be contemplating moving up to 30% of its manufacturing outside of China. Now, these other companies are following suit, and have seemingly also picked Southeast Asian countries as their manufacturing hubs. While the tariffs are a major reason for the move out of China, production costs in the country have also been reportedly on the rise. These two combined may end up making manufacturing in China more expensive than erecting a new factory elsewhere....

Korean News outlet MTN cites sources that claim both NCsoft and Sony Interactive Entertainment have “tentatively agreed” to a business partnership that allows the former to make use of the latter’s IP. The Korean company’s internal dev team will be working on making the game, according to the claim. The report does not specifically mention MMO, but it’s not a stretch to imagine NCsoft making one, regardless of IP. After all, in addition to having titles like Guild Wars and Lineage under its umbrella, the majority of games published by the company, whether developed in-house or otherwise, are of this genre....

The existence of the High Power Mode was confirmed by Apple to MacRumors just a few days after its contributor Steve Moser spotted code strings that are related to the mode within Monterey Release Candidate 1. Rumours regarding first surfaced back in early September after 9to5Mac noticed references to High Power Mode in Monterey beta 8. “Your Mac will optimize performance to better support resource-intensive tasks. This may result in louder fan noise,” according to the code....

Face ID is one of the security features included in iPhones, which allows a user access to the device by verifying their identity via the front-facing camera. That’s all fine and dandy, but users have reported that the system can also be easily tricked by a doppelganger or even a relative. So it’s no wonder that Apple is pursuing new technologies such as this to further minimise the chance of errors....
