PLUS COO, Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi, said that the company expects a 25% increase from the current daily traffic. He urges travellers to adhere to the TTA schedule in order to reduce congestion as it is designed to prevent traffic heading towards further destinations from converging with those travelling to nearer ones, or else they should expect extended travel times. From 29 April until 2 May, those leaving Klang Valley and heading towards Perlis, Kedah, Penang, north Perak, or Johor are advised to hit the road before 10AM while those going to other states should start travelling after 1PM. When going back to the city between 5 to 9 May, PLUS urges travellers from all states to begin their journey before 9AM. Zakaria explained that the average travel time becomes twice as long when drivers enter the highway after 9AM. During this period, over 1,500 PLUS assistants will be deployed at toll plaza lanes to assist with toll transaction complications. (Source: PLUS [1][2])
