As you might be able to guess by its name, the Snapdragon 855 and Snapdragon 855 Plus are pretty much identical to each other. For example, the Kyro 485 CPU inside the SoC still features a combination of one Prime core, three Performance cores, and four Efficiency cores. However, the clock speed of the Prime core on Snapdragon 855 Plus is much higher at 2.96GHz as compared to 2.84GHz on the original Snapdragon 855. Additionally, Qualcomm has also managed to bring out 15% additional performance from the Adreno 640 GPU inside the Snapdragon 855 Plus. According to Qualcomm, consumers can expect to see devices with Snapdragon 855 Plus in the market within the second half of 2019 which means anytime soon.
