CEO Min-Liang Tan says that the company still has a “pretty large” engineering team that’s still capable of making a phone. With that said, the gaming brand is adopting a “wait-and-see” approach with 5G before it even contemplates working on the Razer Phone 3.
Tan reasons that despite many manufacturers already making 5G-ready phones, it’s still a technology that’s not yet widely available to the masses. Tan believes that this makes the purchase of a 5G phone difficult for customers to justify. It’s also the reason for acting as a deterrent to the company making another phone for now. That’s not to say that the company will definitely announce the Razer Phone 3 once 5G tech becomes mainstream either. In an interview with Engadget, Tan said the mobile gaming industry has got other problems, and they are not as easily solved as simply making a third generation gaming phone. (Source: Engadget)
