An upgrade over its predecessor that was released in 2018, the optical switches on the new Huntsman V2 and Huntsman V2 Tenkeyless are claimed to offer “near-zero” input latency. Razer says that these feature a polling rate of 8,000Hz, enabling them to theoretically detect key presses eight times faster than the original model – making both keyboards ideal for gaming, among other things. The onboard Opto-Mechanical keys are complemented by the brand’s new PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) keycaps, which are designed to be more durable and feature long lasting legends that do not wear away over time. And yes, both keyboards to also come with the brand’s iconic Chroma RGB lighting system that can be further customised by its companion app on desktop. In terms of design, the full-sized model of the Huntsman V2 features a volume wheel and media controls on the top right of its interface. Meanwhile, the smaller Tenkeyless variant – as implied by its name – omits the numpad, as well as the volume and media controls in favour of a more compact form factor. It’s also worth mentioning that only the smaller version has a detachable USB-C cable. Razer says that both models feature improved acoustics, with added sound dampening foam for a quieter overall experience.  The new Huntsman V2 and Huntsman V2 Tenkeyless are available now via the official Razer web store and authorised retailers. The clicky and linear variants of the full-sized model are priced at RM899 and RM949 respectively, while the same configurations for the Tenkeyless models are retailing at RM699 and RM749 respectively. All of which also come with a detachable wrist rest in the box. (Source: Razer [1] [2])
