As per Ice Universe’s tweet, Samsung is set to replace the iris sensor with the new UD scanner. The same tweet also states that the scanning area will be bigger than the current implementation. Statistically, we could see up to 30% of the screen being dedicated toward being the scanner area.

Now it’s being used in many smartphones in the market – both at a mid-range and flagship level. To that end, Samsung is merely looks to be the next manufacturer to adopt the futuristic-looking biometric authenticator. This claim is backed up by the recent report of Samsung developing various new in-display sensors.
