Should the report be proven accurate, the introduction of the imaging tech will provide an edge to the company’s Galaxy A series against competing smartphones. The Elec notes that Samsung plans to include OIS on the successors of the Galaxy A72, Galaxy A52, and Galaxy A22 which are expected to arrive next year. All of which have been reported to be the more successful and popular mid-range releases from the South Korean brand. To recap, the technology uses a combination of hardware and software processing to eliminate or reduce camera shakes and bumps in order to capture images with significant precision. It is often relied on for autofocusing, and for capturing shots in low-light as well as those magnified via telephoto. As mentioned earlier, OIS is featured on high-end Samsung smartphone models such as the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note 8 onwards.

While this may sound like a good move, the inclusion of the technology will likely result in higher production costs for the next generation Galaxy A models. Naturally, this would be reflected on their respective price tags as well. But for now, we suggest taking the rumour with a pinch of salt as always, at least until Samsung decides to confirm such plans in the near future. (Source: The Elec via GSMArena)
