It appears that the leakster is not the only one who is claiming that the Korean tech giant is planning to supply its self-produced chips to third party companies. A recent report by Business Korea stated that Samsung is also looking to provide its Exynos chips to other Chinese smartphone makers including Vivo, Xiaomi and OPPO, which would be used to power their mid-range devices.

Back in late 2019 and early 2020, two Vivo handsets – the X30 Pro and S6 5G – launched with the mid-range Exynos 980 SoC. The former was also the first smartphone to feature the chipset before it was introduced to Samsung’s own Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 models later in 2020. On a somewhat related note, the Korean tech company also debuted its ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor on last year’s Xiaomi Mi Note 10. This enabled the smartphone to be the first in the world to feature a 108MP camera – months before the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. For now, it is uncertain whether Samsung is indeed planning to supply its Exynos chipsets to several third party companies.
