The withdrawal is a big blow to the company. It had planned to announce a number of Xperia smartphones at MWC 2020. The company had intended to livestream the event as well for those who could not attend. As a result of the withdrawal, the Sony press conference will instead be done via a YouTube video on the official Xperia channel. The video is scheduled to go live at 3:30PM local time. Despite four big names in tech not making it to MWC 2020, other smartphone makers are still on track to announcing new products there.
