Like most of what Sony is offering with their current Xperia line-ups, the new mid-ranger also comes with a tall 21:9 display. Specifically, the Xperia 8 Lite comes with a 6-inch LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 630 chipset, paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Other than that, the phone features a 2,870mAh battery, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that also doubles as its lock button, a 3.5mm headphone jack on top, and a USB-C port at the bottom.

As for its cameras, on its back is a dual camera setup consisting of a 13MP main shooter and a 5MP depth sensor, while located in the upper bezel of the Xperia 8 Lite’s display is an 8MP selfie camera. Those expecting a current Android experience will be disappointed to know that the phone is actually running on an Android Pie version of Xperia UI.

The new Xperia 8 Lite is scheduled to ship on 1 September 2020, and is priced at JPY29,800 (~RM1,170). Sony has not announced any plans of releasing the phone outside of Japan at this time. (Source: Sony Japan [official website])
