Apart from the noise cancelation, the WF-SP800N also features Sony’s Extra Bass technology which delivers “powerful, punchy, and low-end” audio experience. The company adds that users could further fine tune its audio output via the Headphones Connect companion app to suit their own personal preferences. The headphones also support Sony’s 360 Reality Audio feature, which offers a custom immersive audio field that is optimised for each individual user when using the aforementioned app. The headphones use Smart Control Technology for user interaction, where volume adjustments can be made by simply placing a finger on either the right or left earbud. Additionally, the WF-SP800N also features Wearing Detection which automatically detects when the earbuds are taken out. Music can instantly be paused when an earbud is removed, and would automatically resume when it is placed back in again.
As for battery life, Sony claims that the WF-SP800N provides 9 hours of music playback on a full charge. With the charging case, the headphones can last up to 18 hours with noise cancelling activated, and 26 hours with the feature switched off. A 10 minute quick charge is capable of allowing for up to 60 minutes of playback, they added. The Sony WF-SP800N truly wireless sport headphones will be available in Malaysia from July 2020, and is offered in black, blue, orange and white colours. Pricing for the device has not been revealed at this time. (Source: Sony press release)
