The software, known as ‘Imaging Edge Webcam’, enables users to fully utilise the high resolution picture quality, autofocus and unique features of each compatible camera from the brand to be used during video conferencing. “We’re excited to share a new application that give so many loyal Sony customers the ability to quickly and easily transform their camera into a highly effective webcam for live streaming, video calls and so much more,” said Sony Digital Imaging general manager Ryo Ochi in a press statement.
According to the company, a total of 35 Sony cameras will be compatible with the software at launch. These include the Alpha 9 series, Alpha 7R III to IV, Alpha 7S series, Alpha 7 II to III, several Alpha 6000 series, RX100 series, RX0 I to II, ZV-1, and many more.
