One such project is the Smart Traffic Light solution which aims to improve the traffic flow in SS15 through real-time analytics that are based on data feed provided by high-definition cameras and sensors. The company has also implemented Smart Parking system to help MPSJ manage and monitor parking bays in the area more efficiently.

Additionally, there is also the Smart Safety and Security solution which provides real-time surveillance capability for MPSJ. The solution not only involves the usage of high-definition cameras and sensors but has also been fused with artificial intelligence that allows it to have predictive analysis capability which could help MPSJ to react in a more proactive manner especially during emergency. Operational since November, all three projects are working together as a 5G-based unified smart city system. Alongside the projects with MPSJ, TM also have two more 5GDP implementations in SS15 including Smart Retail Analytics and Smart Water System which are being used for private commercial premises.

The company is also in the process of implementing Smart Vehicle system in Subang Jaya vicinity although this particular deployment involves TM’s own fleet for the time being. While the smart city-centric solutions were a collaboration between TM One and MPSJ, the three additional 5GDP implementations in Subang Jaya were developed and deployed directly by TM R&D division. Meanwhile, TM is also running several 5G trial projects in Langkawi as well which utilize its 5G SA network that the company announced last week. Expect to hear more details about them very soon as the MCMC’s 5GDP series run its course.
