Even though Valve has since removed the page, details that are contained within it have made their way into the internet. For starters, the page has indicated that the headset will be available on 15 June 2019. Even though it was clear the page was far from finished and filled with random word fillers, some details regarding the headset were still shown on it including the standard contents of an Index package. Among them are integrated headphones, two face gaskets and a tether with DisplayPort 1.2 and USB 3.0 connections.

The page has also stated that the VR headset requires a PC with at least NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card. At the same time, it was also linked to another product page and while the link is already dead, its URL address has indicated that the other page might contain details regarding Index’s base stations. Meanwhile, The Verge has received confirmation from Valve that the product page, while incomplete, is indeed accurate. The latter’s spokesperson, Doug Lombardi, also said that a full announcement is planned for 1 May, with pre-orders starting on that day as well. The Valve Index is also scheduled to begin shipping some time in June. However, considering that Doug didn’t reveal or confirmed an exact release date for Index, 15 June might not be the finalized date. Hence, expect to hear more details regarding Index from Valve as we get close to its launch date this coming May. (Source: ResetEra via PC Gamer // The Verge)
